China becomes Japan's largest trading partner

The 2006 trade statistics from Japan's Ministry of Finance published on April 25 show that the value of trade between Japan and the Chinese mainland reached 25.4278 trillion yen (approximately 1.65 trillion yuan), while the value of trade between Japan and US reached 25.1608 trillion yen. China has become Japan's largest trading partner for the first time since the war.
