DUBAI's Emirates Shipping Line is starting two new services, namely the Gulf Indian-Subcontinent Africa Service (GIA), and the Africa Far-east Asia Service (AFA).
These services will be operated in partnership with TS Line. Six 1,100-TEU vessels will be deployed with Emirates Shipping Line providing five of the ships and TS Line the remaining one.
The GIA service is a direct scheduled weekly service from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to East Africa. The port rotation for GIA is: Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Jebel Ali, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Mombassa, Nhava Sheva.
The AFA service connects China and southeast Asia to the two major ports in East Africa on the following port rotation: Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Dar Es Salaam, Mombasa.
A statement from the shipping line, which has commercial headquarters in both Dubai and Hong Kong, said AFA will use a combination of Emirates Shipping Line's Hyper Galex service and the AFA service over Colombo.
