Railway Board Chairman Arunendra Kumar has directed all Zonal Railways to take up this campaign in the right unrest.
Objective of this drive, he said, is to make a visible impact in the passenger areas on cleanliness.
Kumar said that "This includes cleanliness of platforms, toilets at platforms, waiting and retiring rooms and other areas where there is passenger interaction."
Circulating areas will also be cleaned and unclaimed vehicles to be towed away, he added.
Water booths and drains at stations, especially in passenger areas, will be covered and water leakage also to be fixed.
Trains passing through stations and originating from stations also proposed to be cleaned thoroughly. Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) will check one station everyday for the next 2 weeks. Assistant General Managers (AGM) of the concerned Zonal Railways will also inspect the stations for cleanliness.
Daily progress report in this regard will be sent by all Zonal Railways to Railway Board on regular basis through email.
