Kuwaiti logistics firm Agility has signed a deal worth up to $21 million to provide freight services for a project development by Lihir Gold in Papua New Guinea, Reuters reported.
"Agility will provide freight management services for Lihir's Million Ounce Plant Upgrade (MOPU)...the project material logistics, expected to be in excess of 50,000 freight tonnes," Agility said.
The project at the Lihir Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea is expected to conclude within two years, with a cost of $700 million, Agility said.
The firm's stake in the deal is expected to be between $14 million and $21 million, it said. "Agility's expected stake varies between two percent to three percent of the total value of the project," it said.
