Agility scoops giant Chevron supply contract

2009-5-27

Agility Project Logistics has landed a US$195 million contract from Chevron Australia to supply base operations and transportation services to support the Gorgon Project.

The Gorgon Project is a joint venture between the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (Operator), Exxon Mobil and Shell to develop the Greater Gorgon gas field located between 130km and 200km off the north-west coast of Western Australia.

The Greater Gorgon gas fields contain resources of about 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, Australia's largest-known undeveloped gas resource.

"This is a significant step for the company as it continues to develop its world class logistic operations to support the Australian offshore oil and gas industry," said Agility Australia's managing director Mick Turnbull.

"This project will require significant investment and recruitment and will have an important impact on the West Australian economy."
