CH2M Hill Brisbane has awarded Agility Project Logistics a global contract for the new 630 megawatt Darling Downs Power Station Project to be located in Darling Downs Region of Queensland, Australia.
CH2M Hill Atlanta and Brisbane offices will undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction activities on the US$750 million gas fired power station for Origin Energy.
GE will supply three Frame 9E gas turbines, boilers and steam turbine and CH2M Hill will supply balance of the equipment.
The Darling Downs power station will be the biggest combined cycle power station in Australia.
"This is a great global success for our project logistics team and we are extremely pleased to secure this first contract with CH2M Hill in Australia," said John Beattie, Agility Project Logistics' Australasian general manager.
Full commercial operation is expected in the first quarter of 2010.
