Acquisition costs take toll on Agility profit

Agility, a Kuwaiti logistics company which helps supply food to US troops in Iraq, posted a decline in profit in the third quarter after costs rose on acquisitions.

Net income in the three months to September 30 fell 13.7% to 38.97 million dinars ($141 million), or 40.96 fils per share, compared with 45.17 million dinars, or 48.01 fils per share in the year-earlier period, a spokeswoman for the company said, declining to be identified.

Earnings also fell in the second quarter on 2006.
