JCtrans: Hello, Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku. Firstly, will you please make a brief introduction of Limutti Holdings Limited?
Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku: LIMUTTI HOLDINGS LTD is a family owned limited liability company with headquarters in Mombasa Kenya. It has offices in Nairobi and Malaba border. Our company specializes in consolidation, deconsolidation, clearing and forwarding and transport.
JCtrans: We know Limutti Holdings covers a wide range of logistics services. Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness or services advantage?
Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku: We offer very competitive rates for deconsolidation, clearing and forwarding and transport. Most of the time our rates are best and our services second to none in the Kenya market. We have very good relationship with shipping lines as well as container freight stations that enables us to provide smooth delivery of goods to final receivers.
JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company nowadays?
Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku: I think the most important things are competitive pricing, better service that puts the customer first, and cooperation with several stakeholders.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about the current logistics industry in Kenya? Are there any advantages or problems?
Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku: Several problems affect the logistics industry in Kenya and these include but not limited to:
- Frequent increases in cost of fuel
- Fluctuation of the local currency against major world currencies like the dollar
- Mushrooming of rogue companies that promise rebates that are well above what the market can offer, and this leads to increased charges to consumers to cater for same.
- Rigidity by Kenya Revenue Authority that affects operations more so in consolidation and clearance of cargo.
JCtrans: Finally, will you please talk about the prospect of Limutti Holdings Limited? Or what's your strategic planning for the next 3 or 5 years? Mr. Geoffrey Luyuku: We are a medium level company that hopes to expand in the next 3-5 years, by increasing volumes currently handled, increasing our truck fleet as well as expanding into the greater lakes region by opening offices in Kampala, Kigali and Goma. |
