"Just supposing, you and I are in the same freight forwarding organization. One day, you provide a service and I refuse to pay and you receive USD 20,000 from the insurance. It's very limited. What if something unexpected happens, or either you or your partner makes a mistake. You could be held liable which would present you with a much greater problem. That coverage doesn't really work. That's why we focus on creating secure business opportunities, not insurance."
"We'd like everyone to have a basic knowledge of their potential partners before doing business with them, for example: how they conduct their business or whether they have financial problems or not. That's the reason why we require every member on our network to pass a Credit Report checked by a third party. This is not negotiable"
"Everyday, 3.8 million people browse our website. After you have become our member, and someone calls us to ask if there is any forwarder who can handle a shipment to Lagos, we will immediately inform you. If someone is having difficulty in handling a shipment to Lagos, they will come to our website and post the information. We will deliver this information to you all year round. If you can't handle it, we will find somebody else after 24 hours. From this point you can see the difference between the traditional and online model." Mr. Zhang explained.
"Yeah, Yeah, I know the problem with the traditional ones," Mr. Folorunso agreed.
"Another thing that we can do for you is marketing. That's also the reason why you didn't see me at the forum in Dalian. I was in Dubai attending the FIATA conference. I helped to introduce our GCP members to all the attendees from the Middle East, Africa, Europe and other areas. We have a Company Directory with all our GCP members' company names and contact details. We distribute copies to nearly everyone at the conference, and also around 800 copies of brochures. When I returned, I brought back about 250 business cards. I will send a copy of these cards to every GCP member. "
About Credit Report
Mr. Zhang showed a copy of a Credit Report to Mr. Folorunso and talked about the Report in detail: "The Credit Report includes your basic information, financial information, etc. We will disclose your company's basic information on our website. When there is a freight forwarder who wants to do business with you, and if they have concerns about the financial situation or credit rating of your company, they will ask you to disclose more information. In this case, we will contact you and ask your permission to disclose more information to your potential partner. Every company in our network must have one of these reports. This shows that your company does exist and is also trustworthy."
After the conversation with Mr Zhang, Mr Folorunso seemed very interested and eager to learn more. A representative from the company then took him to have a look at the JCtrans website. They helped him to browse the site and taught him how to gain the maximum advantage from using it. Towards the end of the meeting Mr Folorunso expressed his admiration for the services provided by JCtrans, and was pleased to sign the contract there and then to begin his GCP membership. |
