Korean Air to fly four times weekly from Seoul to Houston

Korean Air will launch nonstop service between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Incheon International Airport in Seoul from May 2.
Deploying a B777-200, the nonstop flights will depart from the Terminal D at Bush Intercontinental Airport at 1040 hrs every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
"We're very bullish on the Americas," said Americas vice president John Jackson. "Houston is the fifth largest metro area in the US with a very strong travel market to Asia.
Said Houston Mayor Annise Parker: "This new non-stop flight to Seoul is an excellent example of Houston's enhanced status as a gateway in the global marketplace."
Houston represents Korean Air's 14th Americas' destination after Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington.
Said Houston aviation director Mario Diaz: "Korean Air recognises the potential that lies within this growing relationship and the Houston Airport System looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership."
Korean Air is one of the world's top 20 airlines and flew 24 million passengers in 2012. It operates 200 flights per day to 125 cities in 45 countries with a fleet of 155 aircraft including eight A380s.
The Amazon subsidiary has 30 days to respond but has yet to comment on the FAA fine, Shipping Gazette informs.
