Singapore Airlines to save fuel

AAR Corp's Nordisk Aviation Products has delivered 4,300-lightweight air freight containers to Singapore Airlines, expected to save the airline 77,600 kilogrammes on its unit load device (ULD) fleet.
"Nordisk offers the widest range of ULDs in the industry, and has been supporting Singapore Airlines with air cargo containers and pallets for 30 years," said Nordisk Aviation Products vice president Boon Yang Sim.
"We are very pleased to provide Singapore Airlines with products, services and solutions that offer significant cost savings while ensuring safe and reliable cargo handling for their customers."
The manufacturer and supplier of air cargo containers and pallets has delivered to date more than 650,000 units to global aviation markets, a company statement said.
Established in 1970, Nordisk has production facilities in Norway, China and the United States, and has spare parts warehousing and sales offices across Europe, Asia and the United States.
