The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) seeks to fine Amazon Fulfillment US$78,000 for failing to label high-gloss enamel paint, a hazard class 3 flammable liquid hazardous material, on a FedEx flight last August.
Amazon Fulfillment Services of North Las Vegas shipped a quart of the paint from Lexington to Corpus Christi without detailing the contents in accordance with Hazardous Materials Regulations.
The paint leaked through the shipping box alerting workers to the contents which were missing specific inner packaging required, such as inserts or absorbent materials needed for hazardous shipments, reported Atlanta area Air Cargo World.
