Strong passenger growth at TXL and SXF

In January, 1,756,980 passengers took off and landed at the Berlin airports Schönefeld and Tegel; 7.9 per cent more than in the same period the previous year. In the first month of the year, 446,333 passengers (+3.3 per cent) were recorded in Schönefeld and 1,310,647 passengers (+9.6 per cent) in Tegel.

The total number of flight movements in January rose by 3.0 per cent on the year to 17,489 take-offs and landings. The number of flight movements in Schönefeld dropped to 4,738 – 1.3 per cent less than in the previous year – while the number of flight movements in Tegel increased by 4.7 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 12,751 flight movements were recorded in Tegel in the first month of the year.
Schönefeld and Tegel Airport recorded 2,942 tonnes of air freight in January; 31.5 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.
