Latvian airline airBaltic will re-launch route between Riga and Gothenburg, Sweden, on 14 April 2014. The route will offer convenient connections between the two cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia, Russia and the CIS countries.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “We are delighted that our modernised fleet can serve our customers better, and on routes where demand is higher. For the summer season we will discontinue our Riga-Kaunas route, recording somewhat weaker demand; this makes aircraft available to reinstate the Riga-Gothenburg service for our customers travelling between the two cities and onwards to destinations such as Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Kiev, Moscow, Istanbul.”
“We are really happy to welcome airBaltic to Göteborg Landvetter Airport! It is of great importance for our region to have a good connection to Riga and to a network that makes destinations in the Baltic, Russia and the CIS countries accessible”, says Charlotte Ljunggren, Managing Director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
The service will operate four days a week - from Riga to Gothenburg on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but from Gothenburg to Riga on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. airBaltic passengers will board a Bombardier Q400Next Gen aircraft for a flight that will last for 1 hour 40 minutes.
