AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), Russia’s largest scheduled cargo carrier, has successfully passed the audit procedures that confirm its compliance with the International Air Transport Association’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
As a result of the audit, IATA has extended the airline’s IOSA certificate for another two years until November 2015. The certificate confirms that AirBridgeCargo’s operational activities conform to the highest international air safety requirements.
The audit inspection process included all of the key areas of ABC’s business, including its management system, operating control, flight performance, maintenance and ground handling, as well as aviation security.
“Safety is one of the most important issues in aviation. Our consistent quality and safety control, managed by our own quality department and flight safety inspectors, as well as the constant improvement of the quality of our product has enabled us to once again meet the requirements of IATA’s Operational Safety Audit,” said Denis Ilin, ABC’s Executive President.
AirBridgeCargo was awarded its first IOSA certificate in 2012 and this was a strategic step towards IATA membership, which ABC obtained in the same year.
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is an internationally accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of airlines. The IOSA standard contains requirements for the organisation of airline operating processes, which allows each company to reach and sustain the essential level of safety and quality. The audit itself consists of three stages: preparation, audit and rectifying of deficiencies. The scope of work which is necessary to comply with the IOSA standard requires the involvement of all departments in the company because almost all areas of the operating process are checked as part of the audit.
