Indian ports could be fully operational this weekend

2010-8-23

There are hopes that access to the ports of Mumbai and Nhava Sheva could resume normal operations this weekend following the collision of two ships 13 days ago.

Operations at two of India¡¯s biggest ports have been restricted since the collision between the MSC Chitra and the cargo ship Khalijia 3 off Mumbai on Saturday (7 August), which resulted in hundreds of containers being tipped into the ports¡¯ shipping channel.

Forwarder contacts now believe the ports could be fully operational this weekend.
