Airbus said its expects Middle East orders for passenger aircraft to fall to about 100 this year, compared with 344 last year.
"It's less than last year, because last year was exceptional," Airbus Middle East President Habib Fekih told reporters in Dubai on Monday on the sidelines of a travel conference.
Still, the number could rise if low-cost carriers in the region go ahead with orders, Fekih said.
Middle East governments and companies may order about 1,600 passenger aircraft in the 20 years to 2027, Fekih said.
