POSTED: 11:39 a.m. EDT, August 29,2007

Crude prices fell Tuesday as concerns about the U.S. refineries eased.

Several of U.S. refinery problems, including a reported outage at Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s refinery in Texas, have been resolved, according to reports.

Dow Jones Newswires reported that the processing units at a 330, 000 barrel per day Chevron Corp. refinery in Mississippi have returned to service.

Light, sweet crude for October delivery fell 24 cents to settle at 71.73 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

In London, October Brent crude fell 40 cents to settle at 70.55 dollars a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
