Crude prices decline sharply
POSTED: 9:19 a.m. EDT, August 7,2007

Crude prices declined by more than3 dollars on Monday, amid concern over U.S. economy.

Light, sweet crude for September delivery fell 3.42 dollars to 72.06 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

In London, Brent crude lost 3.58 dollars to 71.17 dollars a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.

Traders got worried over the U.S. economy, which could lower demand for oil and gasoline. The Labor Department reported that the unemployment rate rose to 4.6 percent in July, a six-month high.
