Shanghai's logistics industry ranked first in China
 
Forbes China has ranked Shanghai as the number one city on the mainland in terms of its logistics capabilities, followed by Guangzhou and Ningbo in second and third place, respectively. The survey on "China's best places for logistics development" examined the logistics practices of companies based in 661 cities across the mainland in making its assessment.

Shanghai expected to handle 21m TEU in 2006
 
CHINA's thriving Port of Shanghai is expected to handle more than 21 million TEU and 500 million tons of cargo by the end of the year.The survey on "China's best places for logistics development" examined the logistics practices of companies based in 661 cities across the mainland in making its assessment. Ranked in fourth to 10 place were: Hangzhou, Yantai, Jinhua, Beijing, Jinan, Dongguan and Shenzhen, the report said.

Baltrans forms BALtrans Logistics in China
 
Hong Kong-based freight forwarding and logistics company Baltrans has announced the integration of two of its entities in China as of 16 October, 2006.The new 'service platform' as Baltrans calls the business unit, will operate under the trade name of BALtrans Logistics, and will be headquartered in Shanghai. The aim of this integration is to eliminate duplication of resources.
