The U.S. trade deficit dropped to 58.1 billion U.S. dollars in June, the lowest level since February, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday.
The June trade deficit was compared with 59.2 billion dollars in the previous month and was 6.4 billion dollars from the same month of last year.
For June, U.S. exports of goods and services totaled 134.5 billion dollars, up 1.5 percent from the previous month and hitting an all-time high.
Imports of goods and services also set a record, reaching 192.7billion dollars. That was up 0.5 percent from the May levels.
The trade imbalance has set new records for five consecutive years.
