Norway and Poland have agreed to build a new pipeline for the transport of natural gas between the two countries, said reports reaching here on Sunday, quoting Norway's prime minister.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Jens Stoltenberg and his Polish counterpart, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, during Stoltenberg's visit to Poland Friday and Saturday, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reported.
Poland is determined to secure its energy supplies by purchasing gas from sources other than Russian, according to NRK.
"We have reached agreement on how to finance a pipeline from Norway to Poland," Stolteberg said.
The Norwegian prime minister said they had also agreed on Polish companies' participation in the project.
