Dell aims to small businesses

World PC giant Dell Inc., introduced new services and support customized for small businesses worldwide on Tuesday.

Dell, the world No. 2 PC maker, announced a new brand - Vostro (Latin for "yours") - of notebooks and desktops to meet the uniqueneeds of small businesses. To complete the small business solution, Dell also introduced a new 19-inch widescreen display, color laser printer and mono multifunction laser printer.

The Vostro branded products provide tools that address top-of-mind problems such as data back-up, PC performance and health, and specialized networking support for customers without dedicated IT staff, focus on small businesses worldwide.

"For too long, entrepreneurs have been forced to fit either consumer or large corporate solutions into their unique environments," said Dell Chairman and CEO Michael Dell, "Vostro changes the game for small-business owners by empowering them to choose the exact IT solutions they need to be successful."

Dell will released its Vostro of Chinese Edition on Wednesday in China, one of the company's fastest growing markets, where Dell ranked No. 3 in computer shipments in 2006.
