Brazil and Argentina Tuesday agreed to establish a joint working group to boost bilateral energy cooperation, reported Agencia Brazil news agency.

The agreement was reached by Brazilian Minister of Energy and Mining Silas Rondeau and Argentine Minister of Planning, Public Investment and Services Julio de Vido during their meeting on energy.

The working group is scheduled to hold its first meeting in July to set up its joint energy strategy.

Rondeau stressed the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation in bio-fuels, as both countries are bio-fuels producers and exporters.

On nuclear cooperation, Rondeau said the two countries will sign an agreement on nuclear technology cooperation. Argentina recently decided to resume its nuclear power plan while Brazil owns two nuclear power plants.
