American Students Live with Chinese Host Families
POSTED: 4:29 p.m. EDT, April 12,2007

"Chinese food is wonderful!" "We never imagine Chinese houses are so modern and cozy!" These comments came last week from 9 students from Minnesota State of the US, who had lived with their Chinese host families for a period of time.

In February 2006, 13 students from Changjun High School of Changsha, Hunan Province paid a visit to an American high school in Minnesota, and one year later, American students from the same school visited Changsha.

Catherine Pochade enjoyed her life in her "new home" in China. "I never thought my 'home' can be such a pretty place," she said. She also told our reporter that although she had some knowledge about Chinese culture, but she had never lived with a Chinese family before.

Laura Jason has become an expert in Chinese cookery. Besides food, these American students also admire China's long history. "We visited many interesting places during these days such as museums, folk-custom villages and a well-preserved woman's corpse from a tomb of Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-24 A.D.)," Laura said.
