Vietnam is estimated to reap export earnings of nearly 6.8 billion U.S. dollars in the first two months of this year, posting a year-on-year increase of 23.5 percent, according to the country's General Statistics Office on Thursday.
Key items posting high export growth in the period include coffee with 565 million dollars, up 222.8 percent; garment over 1 billion dollars, up 31.2 percent; and seafood 431 million dollars, up 25.7 percent.
Vietnam is set to import goods valued at more than 7.8 billion dollars between January and February, posting a year-on-year increase of 45.8 percent.
The country posted export turnovers of 39.6 billion dollars in 2006, up 22.1 percent from 2005.
