South Korea's state-run tourism company said Wednesday it will hold its annual conference late next month to discuss ways of attracting more foreign tourists.
The meeting, scheduled for Feb. 27-28, will focus on working out ways to lure seven million foreign tourists to South Korea this year, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) said.
During the conference to be held in Incheon, about 40 kilometres west of Seoul, Taleb Rifai, deputy secretary-general of the World Tourism Organization, will give a speech on the latest trends of the global tourism industry, the KTO said.
The two-day meeting will also bring together representatives from the domestic tourism industry, the KTO said.
According to the agency, about six million foreign tourists visited South Korea in 2006.
