Chinese vice premier calls for auto cooperation
POSTED: 9:00 a.m. EDT, June 1,2007

Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan called for more cooperation in the auto industry with Fiat when he met with Sergio Marchionne, CEO of the Italian Group Fiat Thursday, .

Zeng said Fiat, as a world-known automobile manufacturer, has contributed to the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

China's auto market has expanded rapidly in recent years and will show a promising prospect as China's economy maintains a good momentum and people's consumption power rises, said Zeng.

He said he hoped Fiat could grasp the opportunity and conduct cooperation with Chinese enterprises on a mutually beneficial basis.
