CHONGQING, Dec 28, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Chang'an Ford Mazda General Manger David G. Thomas disclosed in an interview that his company was destined to have doubled sales in China for the full year 2006.

The Ford brand's sales will surpass 125,000 ones, and the number of its franchise dealers will exceed 160 in 2006, said the general manager of Ford's venture with China's Chang'an Automobile Group and Japan's Mazda Motor Corp.

The venture witnessed a sales surge of more than 140 percent from January to October, making itself one of the nation's fastest-growing automakers. Its sales breakthrough is attributive to the significant performance of Focus and spectacular financial results of Mendeo, David stressed.

Focus will reach sales of 73,500 ones. Two-compartment Focus has the rapidest growth since it hit the market in September 2006, and three-compartment Focus is expected to have the same sales as the two-compartment version in 2007. The Focus family will have an all-new member Focus S-MAX soon.
