Iran's Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar vowed Saturday that Iran is a powerful nation and is fully prepared to resist any possible threat, the state-run Press TV website reported.
Najjar made the remarks at the mausoleum of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruholla Khomeini, just two days before Khomeini's 18th death anniversary, the state-run Press TV website reported.
Iran's "armed forces are prepared to fight for the revival of the Islamic culture till the last drop of their blood," Najjar was quoted as saying.
The defense minister also praised Khomeini's guidance in military issues, saying that his guidance has had a great effect on "the revival of the Islamic culture in all aspects."
"The Ministry of Defense has always upheld the Islamic values of the founder of the Islamic Republic and is fully prepared to defend the nation," Najjar said.
