The deadly blast in the northwesten Pakistani city of Peshawar had no link with the killing of the senior Taliban commander Mullah Dadullah, said pakistan.

At least 21 people were killed and scores of others were injured in the powerful bomb blast in a hotel in Peshawar earlier Tuesday.

Afghan and coalition forces said Sunday that they had killed Commander Dadullah in Afghanistan's Helmad province.

"Mulla Dadullah is an Afghan national, who has been killed in Afghanistan. It vindicates Pakistan's stance that these people are not operating in Pakistan," said head of the Crisis Management Cell in the Interior Ministry Brig (retired) Javed Iqbal Cheema.

"Mullah Dadullah was operating in Afghanistan and that is why he was killed in Afghanistan," Cheema told a news conference.

"Pakistan did not provide any intelligence on Dadullah, so I would not say the Peshawar suicide attack was reaction to Dadullah's killing," he said.

He said that the ISAF forces had traced Dadullah and Pakistan had nothing to do with his killing.
