U.S. House approves war spending bill with pullout timetable
POSTED: 11:32 a.m. EDT, April 26,2007

Defying a veto threat from President George W. Bush, the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war funding bill which sets a timetable for the United States to withdraw its troops from Iraq.

The sharply-divided House voted 218-208 to pass the legislationthat would order U.S. troops to be withdrawn from Iraq by Oct. 1.

The 124.2-billion-U.S. dollar bill will face a vote in the Senate before being sent to the desk of President Bush.
