Chinese vice president Zeng Qinghong underscored on Saturday an innovative spirit in building the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era.
Zeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the autumn term of the CPC Central Committee's Party School.
Zeng, also president of the Party School, said the Party must stick to the spirit of reform and innovation in party construction in this new era and keep innovating the Party's theories and improving the Party's systems in a bid to strengthen the governance capability of the CPC.
Zeng also asked all Party members to learn in depth the important speech made by President Hu Jintao, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on June 25.
In the speech, Hu underscored that China's political, economic, cultural, social and party issues have to be dealt with from the perspective of the country's specific characteristics and concrete conditions and by the combination of theory and practice.
