Li Changchun, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), left Samoa for Beijing on Wednesday after concluding his three-day visit to the South Pacific island nation.

Apia, capital of Samoa, is the last stop of Li's two-week trip to Latin America and South Pacific region. He has visited Mexico, Venezuela, Suriname, Ecuador and Peru.

During his visit to Samoa, Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met with Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi. The two sides agreed to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and enhance political basis of bilateral ties.

Li and Tuilaepa witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two countries and also attended the completion ceremony of a sports complex, which China helped build in Apia.
