Premier Wen meets Prince Albert II
POSTED: 9:52 a.m. EDT, April 26,2007

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met Prince Albert II in Beijing on Wednesday. It is the first time a head of state from Monaco has toured China.

Wen said China and Monaco had always respected and promoted relations despite far distance and large disparities on size, population and social systems.

He said China would like to continue high-level contact with Monaco and expand cooperation in finance, insurance, tourism and environmental protection.

Albert II voiced his hope to deepen the friendship and cooperation between Monaco and China.

Albert II arrived in Beijing on Tuesday to begin a four-day visit to China. Chinese President Hu Jintao met with him on Tuesday.
