The Chinese capital city of Beijing received its second snowfall of the season on Saturday morning.
China News Service reports snow fell in most parts of the city. A maximum depth of 3 millimeters was recorded in Yanqing County, while at least 1 millimeter fell in urban areas.
Officials from the municipal transportation department say they have launched a level-three emergency plan to deal with the snow. More than 3,000 traffic police have been deployed to maintain order at traffic crossings.
Officials also say more than 300 dedicated vehicles are busy clearing the city's main streets of snow.
The weather department predicts the snow will wane after 8:00am and stop completely around 10:00am.
