Systems integrator Alewijnse Marine Systems has signed the official contracts for the launch of the new branches Alewijnse Marine Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Alewijnse Marine Malaysia Sdn. Bhd, the company said in its press release.
The formation of the Singapore and Malaysian offices marks the next phase in Alewijnse's strategy to supply its electro-technical services to shipyards and operators in South-East Asia. Alewijnse is a full-service supplier of electrical engineering and ICT services to the maritime and offshore industries. The company has extensive experience in the worldwide maintenance and refit of offshore vessels and rigs.
Singapore and Malaysia represent an important opportunity for Alewijnse as their offshore industries are expanding rapidly. Their harbours are also becoming ever more popular destinations for international offshore operators looking to repair and refit their high - value assets.
Alewijnse's business development manager Mark Paasman commented: "Our clients in Asia are specifically seeking partners who are trustworthy and experienced specialists in engineering and installation." Together with its partners Willtech Asia, a leading expert in mechanical engineering, and seaport terminal Johor Port, Alewijnse is able to offer its clients confidence in a high quality service and the benefits of its many years' experience and knowledge, all in one location. The result is the creation of a new hotspot for engineering, procurement, construction, installation & commissioning (EPCIC) contracts for offshore-related projects.
Tangjung Langsat Port in Johor, which is rapidly becoming Asia's leading speciality terminal, is the site of the new operation. Alewijnse and Willtech Asia have leased a dedicated quay, 400 metres long and with a minimum draft of 11 meters, making it capable of taking very large vessels.
