Finland's Port of Helsinki handled 76,183 cargo units in 2014, an increase of 2.1 per cent compared to the previous year.
On the other hand, container volumes fell by 9.1 per cent year-on-year to 61,673 TEU, reported the Gdynia's Baltic Transport Journal.
During the first two months of 2014, the total freight volume rose by 0.7 per cent to 1.67 million tonnes of which general cargo totalled 1.53 million tonnes, an increase of 0.9 per cent compared to 2013, while dry bulk stayed flat at 135,000 tonnes.
Passenger traffic amounted to 1.32 million passengers, down 1.1 per cent.
