US-SWEDEN -UAE-Several companies in the international supply chain have announced new interests this week staring with freight forwarding specialists which has announced an expansion of its services with the Ford Motor Company. Ceva will provide the inbound transportation logistics for Ford’s new Michigan facility the Coldwater Origin Distribution Center. Ceva and Ford have worked together now for over 2 decades and now Ceva’s road haulage transportation operations will be based in various Michigan locations and provide pickup and delivery to the Coldwater ODC. Kerry Zielinski, Ceva’s Vice President of Business Development and Ford account lead for the Americas, commented:
"It’s a tremendous privilege for Ceva to help support the expansion of this new Ford facility. We are proud and excited to receive this award of business from one of our largest global customers. Our customer’s growth in the automotive industry has fuelled our company’s expansion and market leadership in the automotive sector as well."
Meanwhile Swedish group has cemented its commitment to best practice by becoming a Platinum Partner, after its marine systems operation was the Platinum AGA sponsor of the 33rd PIANC World Congress at the beginning of June. Trelleborg has long supported the work of PIANC, the International Association of Waterborne Transport Infrastructure, which is the global organisation that provides guidance for the sustainable development of ports and waterways. PIANC provides a forum for interested parties from across the world to join forces to provide expert advice on cost-effective, reliable and sustainable infrastructure.
Trelleborg is involved in a number of PIANC working groups, including WG 145, which investigates berthing velocities and fender design, and WG 153, which seeks to provide new guidelines for marine oil terminal design. Speaking at the World Congress, Richard Hepworth, President of Trelleborg Marine Systems, said:
