MOL expands intra-Asia feeder Singapore-Jakarta Shuttle service

MOL Liner Ltd (MOL) has announced that starting mid-March it is making changes to its existing Singapore-Jakarta Shuttle Service (AJS) to add a port call in Thailand's Laem Chabang.
The Japanese shipping company is also adding to the service a second call to at the Indonesian capital to "meet the requirements for outbound services from Jakarta", a company statement said.
The revised AJS service will be jointly operated by MOL and Regional Container Lines with two ships.
The transit time from Laem Chabang to Jakarta is four days to "ensure smooth connection with Japan-Strait Service (HS3)", it said.
New (AJS) port rotation is: Singapore (Sun/Mon), first Jakarta call (Tue/Wed), second Jakarta call (Fri/Sat), Singapore (Mon/Mon), Laem Chabang (Thu/Fri) and back to Singapore.
The first vessel to operate on the amended port rotation will be the Sattha Bhum, which is scheduled to arrive at Laem Chabang on March 13.
