"We foresee this region playing a major role in driving economic growth globally. We are very positive of scaling our business here and efficiently integrating the logistics requirements of our customers based in this part of the world with our global network," said Shashi Kiran Shetty founder and chairman of Avvashya Group and ECU Line.
"We will continue with our commitment to add value to the business of our customers not only through LCL and FCL (full container load) services, but also by innovating new avenues to make their logistics needs more efficient, productive and seamless to their business objectives," said Mr Shetty.
As part of the Mumbai-based Avvashya Group and ECU Line is the world's largest LCL service provider with a presence in 90 countries with 200 offices worldwide.
The company owns hubs in Antwerp, Hamburg, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Miami, Panama, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires and Durban.
To consolidate its leadership in the NVOCC space, in September 2013 ECU Line acquired Miami-based Econocaribe Consolidators with nine offices across North America and employing 350 staff.
Previously, Econocaribe was also the agent of ECU Line. Last year also marked the acquisition of FCL Marine Agencies Rotterdam, specialising in FCL services.
