China Ship Power & Emissions Forum successfully ended on Oct. 30th 2013. It is organized by Ecobiz China Corporation Limited and supported by industry associations, total 158 delegates participated in the forum. The forum invited shipowners, shipyards, engine manufacturers and authoritative institution and medias to discuss IMO TierIII implementation prospect; how to effectively reduce NOx and Sox; Current engine optimization and refurbishment; Shipping energy efficiency management. The forum is endorsed by IQPC and jointly supported by the members from Shanghai Association of Shipbuilding Industry, and chaired by ICCT and Llyod's Register.
Director Wang Shilong of Jinan Auto Test Center introduced The Inland Standard Situation of The Domestic and Overseas Marine Engine, interpreted Standard-setting technology roadmap and Feasibility analysis of standards. Fan Jianxin of Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute made a speech on the Development of Marine Power, presented the current environment pressures and effective response measures, and propose new energy outlook. The conference chairman Wang Haifeng of ICCT presented Long-term potential for increased shipping efficiency, analyzed the ship energy efficiency data and low-carbon strategies. Nicholas Lawrence of Rightship made an address about how to help shipowners to improve shipping efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas. Stein Lovskar of Yarwil raised the question of using SCR technology to reduce exhaust emissions. Society representatives-Llyod's Register and CCS presented The Role and Responsibility of Classification Society on Green Shipping, Rafael Riva of Llyod's Register shared feasible program of environmentally friendly shipping. High-speed engine representatives-Lu Cheng of Yuchai shared Current Technical Status and Development of high-speed engine. While medium&low-speed representatives-Olli Aaltonen of Wartsila China introduced Dual-fuel engine technology developments and breakthroughs in its energy-saving advantages; John Shock of Caterpillar Marine introduced the main technical route and after-treatment method of meeting IMO TierIII. Domestic company representatives - Shanghai Hujiang Diesel Engine Emission Test Scie-tech company shared Effective Assessment of Ship Machines Emissions, explained how to effectively promote green shipping by case study. Siemens Marine promoted their new generation of electric propulsion systems-Bluedrive Plus C which can effectively reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
