Evergreen and CSCL join forces on Europe route

2010-6-29

Evergreen and China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) are expanding their individual slot allocations on the fast growing Asia-Europe trade through a new joint service and vessel deployment programme.

Separately, Evergreen has emerged as the first charterer of megaship tonnage by taking two 10,062 TEU newbuildings from Zim Integrated Shipping Services for Asia-Europe deployment.
The moves effectively push up the two lines' capacity allocation on the Asia-Europe trade well into double digit figures at a time when the westbound peak season is approaching and all lines are intent on implementing general rate increases and peak season surcharges.
