Maersk sets up transit business in Yiwu

International shipping company Maersk is set to enter Yiwu International Logistic Centre on June 6.

A container operation agreement has already been signed.

Yiwu Transportation Yard Construction and Operation and Ningbo Port International Container will jointly start the container transit businesses of Maersk in Yiwu.

In 2007, the centre handled 420,000 TEUs, up 20.61 percent over the last corresponding period.

At present, eight shipping companies have been established in the centre.
