Yantai Port throughput surpasses 100 million tons in 2007

Yantai Port in Shandong province became the 11th 100 million tonne coastal port in China when its throughput surpassed the 100 million tonne mark at the end of 2007, Xinhua reported.

Yantai also became the third 100 million tonne port in Shandong following Qingdao and Rizhao, the report said.

Total throughput of the port was estimated to reach 1.01 million tons by December 31, up 25 per cent year on year, the report said.

Yantai Port had invested CNY10.8 billion (US$1.48 billion) in the harbour facilities by December, the report added.
