Shandong province will establish a railway to connect the five ports on its northern coast in the next three years, Xinhua reported.
The 588-kilometre Delongyan Railway, starting from Dezhou city in northwest Shandong and terminating at Yantai city at the east end, will link the five Shandong ports of Binzhou, Dongying, Weifang, Yantai and Weihai, the report said.
The 298-kilometre Weifang-Yantai section, which includes an existing and operating section of 175 kilometres, will be put through at the end of 2007. While the 290-kilometre Dezhou-Weifang section will be completed by 2010, the report said.
