The Port of Los Angeles has extended the public comment deadline on its TraPac Container Terminal project to September 26, bringing the total public comment period to 90 days.
The date was extended to give the public more time to read, comprehend and comment on the nearly 6,000-page document.
The project site is located at Berths 136-147 in Wilmington, Clifornia. The proposed project is to expand and modernize the TraPac container terminal, upgrade existing wharf facilities, add an on-dock rail yard, install a buffer area between the terminal and the community, and relocate the existing PHL Pier A Rail Yard to Berth 200B.
The proposed project includes a 30-year lease and would involve two phases of construction (Phase I: 2008-2015, Phase II: 2015-2025).
