POSTED: 8:45 a.m. EDT, August 7,2007

Continental Airlines has reported the airline recorded a consolidated load factor in July of 86.4 per cent, 1 point above the year-on-year monthly figure in 2006, as well as a mainline load factor of 87 per cent, another 1 per cent over last year.

The US carrier's regional revenue passenger miles (RPM) were 882.8 million and regional available seat miles (ASM) were 1,082.7 million, resulting in a traffic decrease of 9.9 per cent and a capacity decrease of 11.1 per cent versus July a year ago.

The carrier also reported a domestic mainline load factor of 88 per cent, 0.7 points above July 2006, and an international mainline load factor of 86 per cent, up 1.3 points over July a year earlier. All four were said in a statement to be records for July.
