FedEx Express is now offering a Manchester-Memphis flight to its customers.
The daily freighter service operates Monday through Thursday between Manchester International Airport and Memphis, Tennessee. The flight, originating at FedEx's European hub in Paris, will increase the package deliverer's daily capacity on the UK to US route by up to 50 per cent, and from Europe to the US by up to 20 per cent, a company statement said.
"Manchester is the fastest-growing region in the UK, which has led to increased market demand for reliable, time-definite express transportation services," said Robert Elliott, president, FedEx Express, Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa.
The new flight will be the third to serve the transatlantic route from the UK. FedEx currently flies two express freighters from Stansted in the southeast of England to the US cities of Newark, New Jersey, and Memphis.
"This new transatlantic flight and enhanced network connectivity enables FedEx to provide its UK customers with greater flexibility and convenience while significantly increasing our daily capacity to the US," Mr Elliott added.
