"K" LINE has received the Ocean Carrier of the Year Award 2006 for the first time by Lowe's Companies, Inc.
In the running for this award were seven other well-known, high-profile ocean carriers, a statement from the Japanese container shipping carrier said. The accolade was presented at Lowe's annual International Trade Meeting last month.
The award was presented to the carrier that met the highest criteria for customer service, equipment availability, vessel space support, dispatch correctness, EDI capabilities and correctness, along with the general perception of the ocean carrier by suppliers in Asia.
"K" Line said it won the prize because it had met the criteria better than any other carrier. Significantly, "K" Line achieved an average above 98 per cent accuracy with EDI (electronic data interchange).
